How we handle personal data when you visit this site or get in touch.

This website is operated by Smart Thought Technology Solutions UK Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, trading as Smart Thought. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). For any question about this policy or your data, contact us at [email protected].
This site does not currently use cookies for tracking, advertising, analytics or personalisation. We show a short notice about this on your first visit so it is clear from the outset, not because any tracking is happening behind it. If that ever changes, for example if we introduce analytics, we will update this policy and the notice shown on the site before doing so.
The site itself has no contact form, account system or newsletter sign-up, so we do not collect personal data automatically through it beyond the standard technical logs our hosting provider keeps for security and performance purposes, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested. These logs are held by our hosting provider under their own terms and are not used by us for marketing or profiling.
If you contact us directly by email, phone or LinkedIn, we hold that correspondence, along with any details you choose to share, such as your name, company and the nature of your enquiry, so that we can respond and, where relevant, pursue a business relationship with you.
Our lawful basis for processing enquiry and engagement-related correspondence is legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, and, where an engagement proceeds, the steps necessary to enter into and perform a contract.
We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not share it with third parties except where required by law, or where a specific engagement requires it and you have been made aware of that in advance.
Correspondence and engagement records are kept only as long as necessary to handle the enquiry, deliver the engagement, and meet our legal and accounting obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request that it be corrected or deleted, restrict or object to certain processing, and request a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe your data has not been handled correctly.
This site is hosted in the UK/EU. We do not currently transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA as part of operating this website.
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if the site's functionality changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
